Description

Radius Community Centre for Education and Employment Training is a community based organization that supports creative actions to improve quality of life for all members of the community.  We are seeking a qualified individual for a full time position of Facilitator/Career Counselor in our adult employability skills program.

Base Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in human services or education
- Experience with adult education and/or employment programs
- Strong facilitation and mentorship skills
- Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing practice and Employability Dimensions
- Demonstrated writing and MS Word skills

Job Description

- Facilitate group workshops from prepared program materials for adult jobseekers
- Assist jobseekers to develop the skills necessary to find and retain employment including:
Career exploration, Job Readiness and Maintenance skills, and Job Search strategies, including writing resumes and preparing for job interviews
- Provide one to one coaching to jobseekers based on Motivational Interviewing techniques
- Support the development of a career action plan for each jobseeker
- Evaluate jobseekers progress through observation, using program tools and measures
- Connect with community resources; liaise with support agencies
- Actively engage in integrated case planning within a team
- Duties as required to enable the success of jobseekers and the program

The hours of work for this position are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.  

The successful candidate will be required to provide an acceptable criminal record check and vulnerable sector search.  

No phone calls or walk-ins please.
