Description

The Mainline Water & Sewer Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating a variety of equipment which may include:
backhoe, excavator, loaders, bulldozer, front end loader, skid steer, roller, etc.  Operator will use heavy equipment to perform a variety of tasks which may include: fine grading and finishing, landscaping, sloping and banking, back-filling, ditching, excavation, rough grading, stumping, sub-grade excavating, trenching, material handling, slope grooming and snow removal.
Responsibilities:
Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury or property damage.
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
Clean heavy equipment as required.
Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
Advise mechanics of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
Routine Maintenance.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Knowledge:
Knowledge of water & sewer construction & maintenance techniques.
Complete and maintain daily operating & safety records.
Knowledge of safety rules, instructions and policies, workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
Strong verbal & listening skills.
Time management skills.
Must be honest, and trustworthy, respectful, flexible and have good work ethics.
Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License.
May require to take a drug and alcohol test.
