Description

The Kinistin Saulteaux is seeking an energetic, qualified and reliable individual to work out of the Kinistin Band Office located on Kinistin First Nation. Kinistin Saulteaux Nation is located half an hour Southwest of Melfort, Saskatchewan and has approximately seventy employees. The CFO will be responsible to report to the Kinistin Chief and Council, the Chief Financial Officer (the CFO) will oversee all finance, accounting, forecasting, budgeting, treasury, tax, corporate insurance, Information Technology, legal administrative, building maintenance and facilities functions at Kinistin Saulteaux Nation. This role directs all financial activities and advises and assists the Chief and Council in meeting the overall financial and strategic objectives of the Kinistin Band. The CFO is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the Organization by working with the Senior Management Team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies, along with providing leadership and management for Finance, IT, Building Facilities, Economic Development and Corporate Administration.

In order for the position to be highly effective and efficient, the person should possess:
    
A post-secondary Degree in Accounting (a major in Finance or Business Administration would also be an asset);
A Professional Accounting Designation (preference should be given to those who hold a CAFM);
Experience in First Nation accounting and/or auditing;
Experience in working for a First Nation organization.
