We are seeking a working Public Works Manager who is looking for an engaging, rewarding, & challenging career. No job will offer a greater sense of accomplishment. Although you will need to turn on a computer occasionally & attend regular meetings, this is not a desk job. You will never be bored. You will dabble in a full gambit of job activities including operating machinery, training, scheduling, & motivating your crew, & budgeting.
The township covers roughly 13 square kilometres & hosts 1995 occupied private dwellings. Agriculture, oil & gas are the main industries, while retail & other business services cater to the town's populous of just under 5000 people, as well as the surrounding population of more than 28,000 residents. Kindersley's small-town atmosphere with many city amenities soon to include a new indoor pool. It is a great place to work & raise a family.
The Public Works (PW) department oversees the transportation & utility networks. This includes water, waste water, & roadways infrastructure. The PW Manager works closely with the Director of Transportation & Environment to engage its hard working crew of 10 staff in the upkeep of this linear infrastructure as well as the maintenance of the associated vehicles, equipment, materials, & facilities within the PW department. The PW Manager also works closely with other Town departments for the delivery of any & all municipal services.
Responsibilities will include planning, HR management, fiscal management, & administration. The Manager's goal is to efficiently engage & utilize all personnel, equipment, & materials to their highest capacity in accordance with Town policies, procedures & regulations.
