Description

The Adult Essential Skills Level 1 & 2 Instructor will provide instruction and tutorial support to adult registered in the program.  Areas of instruction include math, reading, Science, Communications, Computer Essential Skills, Work, Life and 21st Century Skills.  Additional areas of responsibility will include delivery and management of a Blended Learning model incorporating face-to-face instruction, online competency based learning, and targeted intervention.

The minimal qualifications for this position are: Bachelor of Education Degree, Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate; Special Education Teacher Designation with a Special Education Teaching background.  Knowledge of and training in Adult Education principles and practices, and proven ability to facilitate adult learners is also required.  The preferred candidate will have working knowledge of the Adult Basic Education levels and the associated learning outcomes, as well as instructional experiences in a cross-cultural adult educational setting.  A solid foundation in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Technology in the Classroom is required.  Strong planning, organizational and classroom management skills are essential.  Familiarity with blended learning principles and PLATO Learning Environment is desirable.  Working knowledge of the Circle of Learning benchmarks, and Ministry of Economy, Adult Education Principles is also recommended.
