Description

Sakimay First Nations is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated team player to provide assistance to the Education Department in the Daycare Program.
Summary:
The Daycare Supervisor is a professional service position directly responsible to the Health Services Coordinator with overall accountability to the Director of Operations.  The Daycare Supervisor will be responsible for the development and implementation of a quality, early childhood education program with added staff supervisory duties within the Daycare Facility.

Qualifications Required:
a) Possess at minimum, successful completion of the Early Childhood Education level II, from a recognized post-secondary institution and at least two (2) years practical experience in the childcare field.
b) Have a thorough understanding of community-based programs available to network with the Daycare Program and act as resource in fulfilling the Daycare mandates.
c) Possess the ability to recognize the potential learning difficulties in at risk children and be familiar with the professional referral system to request diagnosis of the same.
d) Possess the ability to develop and implement an early childhood curriculum that is component driven and culturally/community based.
e) Have a working knowledge of First Nations' Culture, community structure and protocols.
f) Possess First Aide, CPR and Safe Food Handling certifications.
g) Demonstrate the ability to be kind and caring towards children and recognize the uniqueness of each child in a respectful manner.
h) Possess excellent communication skills, in both written and oral form.
i) Must submit to an enhanced security screening and drug screening results.
j) Possess a valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle.
