Description

YMCA Summer Day Camp staff work to provide children with positive opportunities during the summer season building skills in children, youth and teens of all abilities. The YMCA of Regina has taken on a physical literacy directive, with the goal of equipping Youth with a transferable set of skills to participate confidently and competently in sport and recreation for life.
Responsibilities: The Summer Day Camp Program Coordinator is responsible to undertake all necessary actions in order for Summer Day Camp programs to operate efficiently.  This will include, but shall not be limited to:
Plan, coordinate, and implement activities that help promote social development, personal development, recreation and nutrition in youth of all abilities in collaboration with the Summer Program Directors.
Provide assistance and support for the administration of the program with the Summer Day Camp Directors.
Provide assistance in promotion of the program via various methods to potential participants and referral agencies.
Aid in the training of camp staff.
Provide assistance and support to camp staff during the execution of camp activities.
Prioritize work tasks in order to effectively manage a 40 hour per week schedule.
Be a strong leader, mentor and role model for all camp participants and staff.
Build positive relationships with staff, campers and parents.
Assist other departments in the YMCA as needed.
The successful candidate will exhibit a high level of organizational aptitude and creativity.
Strong leadership skills; proven ability to effectively manage groups.
Good communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Flexibility regarding assigned working hours.
Read, understand and comply with all YMCA Child Protection policies and procedures.
Original Criminal record check dated within 3 months of hire.
Current: Standard First Aid, CPR
