PLAYGROUND SUPERVISOR I & II
Non-Permanent - Summer
Applications are invited for a number of summer positions of Playground Supervisor I and II in the Community Services Department.
The season runs from approximately the last week in June to the third week in August.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Assigned to a specific neighbourhood play area of the city, the playground supervisor will:
-Work in cooperation with another playground supervisors in coordinating and implementing daily programs of games, special events, arts and crafts, stories, singing for children in the 5 to 12 age group;
-Ensure safety standards are maintained;
-Maintain accurate records and attend weekly staff meetings; and
-Other duties as per job description.
Required Qualifications:
-Grade 12 (Candidates who have completed Grade 11 may be considered)
-Valid Drivers License
-Possess a mature attitude and a good sense of responsibility
-First Aid and CPR C
-Good organizational skills and good public relations skills
-Must attend and complete an SPRA Play Leadership Workshop or have current Play Leader or Play Mentor certification through SPRA.
