Description

This position is pending funding from Young Canada Works.  Candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this position:
-Must be a full time student
-Must be planning to return to school in the fall semester as a full time student
-are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
-between 16-30 years old
-must meet availability requirements

General Description:
The Outreach Science Explorer will be responsible for the delivery of provincial-wide science based outreach programming. Along with curriculum-based outreach programs for school groups, the Outreach Science Explorer will deliver programs at various community-based outreach. The Outreach Science Explorer will be involved in programming at the Science Centre when not on the road. Compensation provided for travel.

Specific Responsibilities:

- Delivery of demonstrations, workshops and community programming.

- Travelling throughout the province.

- Participating in program development and improvement.

- Developing priority skills necessary for program delivery including:

- Interpretation and workshop delivery.

Qualifications:
Available to travel across Saskatchewan.
Experience teaching or instructing a variety of age levels.
Curiosity and interest in science and science literacy.
Excellent organizational skills.
A positive attitude with a high level of customer relations skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Ability to transport and move equipment.
Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License.
Completion of at least some post-secondary training in Science, Education, or Technology.
Criminal Records Check / Vulnerable Persons Check

This is a full-time position and requires week-day availability and will require some evening and weekend work.
