Description

The Saskatchewan Teachers Federation is inviting applications for the position of Budget Officer at our head office in Saskatoon.

Reporting to the Budget and Planning Manager, the Budget Officer is responsible for coordinating, administering and facilitating the internal preparation of budgets and forecasts for each of the Federations funds. This position is the data administrator and primary report-writer for the automated budget system.

Primary responsibilities include preparing spreadsheets and customizing the automated budgeting system to facilitate the preparation of annual work unit and consolidated budgets; preparing and monitoring budget lines under the direct responsibility of the finance unit; compiling and analyzing the annual consolidated operating and capital budgets; and providing technical advice and assistance to managers by clarifying and explaining budget and related data.

The successful candidate will have two to three years of post-secondary education in finance, business administration or accounting and three to four years of related experience. This position requires strong organizational and time-management skills that reflect ability to perform and priorize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
