Description

The Energy Centre Coordinator/2nd Class Chief Engineer is responsible for the day to day operation, maintenance, repair, renovation and construction services performed for the Pasqua Hospital's Energy Center and facilities H.V.A.C. (Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning) systems ensuring these systems are operating to provide maximum benefit/service to the patients, employees and the general public, while maintaining maximum energy efficiencies.  The incumbent is accountable and responsible for ensuring the appropriate skills and qualifications are present and in compliance to meet minimum legislated standards, laws and professional requirements in accordance with all provincial acts and regulations at all regional physical plant sites.
Education:
Valid Second Class Steam Engineers Certificate with a minimum of five (5) years' experience.  Education or training with Direct Digital Control (DDC) Systems.  Advanced knowledge in Energy Centre Water Chemistry Treatment programs.
Experience:
This position requires a minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Second Class Engineer or higher.  The incumbent will have a broad knowledge of Energy Centre operation, preventative maintenance and energy management experience.  The incumbent will have demonstrated strong leadership experience in a unionized environment.  Operating experience using current Building Automation Systems would be a definite asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The incumbent must be a self starter with excellent oral and written communications skills, and have the ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.  Sound problem solving abilities are essential.  The incumbent will have demonstrated in previous employment excellent leadership skills, have demonstrated excellent organizational abilities and the ability to handle responsibility and accountability effectively.
