Job Description
1. Review prescriptions issued by Physicians, or other authorized prescribers to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.2. Compound medications,using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients,if applicable.3. Directing pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals.4. Answering questions and providing information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects,dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals,if counselling offer is accepted.5.Actively engage patients and clients with respect to customer service programs offered by the pharmacy, including but not limited to the following; smoking cessation, vaccinations, flu shots,vitamin and supplement counselling 6.Actively engage patients and clients with respect to program integrations offered by the pharmacy,including but not limited to the following; medication reviews,COPD screening,crutches,nebulizers and splint sales, diabetic education and supplies 7.Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance,security of controlled substances,and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.8.Enter data such as patient name, prescribed medication,and cost,to maintain pharmacy files,charge system,and inventory.9. Instruct interns and other pharmacy personnel on matters pertaining to the pharmacy.10. Maintain awareness of third party RX systems and resolve third party rejection problems promptly, and resubmit rejected claims for payment on a timely basis.11. Provide low volume compliance packaging for chronic medications.
Job Requirements
The Pharmacist will have a current license to practice pharmacy in the Province of Saskatchewan, which must be in good standing.
The Pharmacist must be a graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with either a B.S. in Pharmacy or a Pharm D, with at least one (1) year of retail pharmacy experience.
Member in good standing with the applicable Regulatory Bodies
