Job Description: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the Director of Primary Health Care (DPHC) is accountable for leadership, management, program development, operational plans, budgeting, and establishing standards to ensure consistent high quality of health service delivery. The DPHC, along with the CEO and SMT are responsible for management of contracts related to Integrated Health Services; and, representing AHA at the Provincial program level.
The DPHC supports the Vision, Mission and Principles of AHA and its Strategic Plan; adheres to the established service standards and actively participates in quality improvement activities; and performs all duties in conformance with AHAs Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreement.
The DPHC major responsibilities include:
Representing public health and primary care nursing programs in the Communities and Facility at the Federal and Provincial program level;
Championing the Vision, Mission and Principles of the Athabasca Health Authority and its Strategic Plan;
Assessing program needs and services, developing short and long range operational plans, budgeting, and establishing standards to ensure consistent high quality services;
Developing, establishing and monitoring standards, protocols, policies and procedures to ensure a consistent high standard of Primary Health Care programs and services.
Adhering to the established service standards and driving quality improvement activities; and
The recruitment, performance management and discipline, professional development and succession planning of the Primary Health Care staff.
