Job Description: The Director of Patient Flow and Navigation Services is responsible for the development of strategic direction and overall leadership of the Patient Flow Department, and for the development and implementation of a patient flow strategic framework and strategies. Specifically, the position of Director Patient Flow and Navigation Services is responsible for providing the vision, guidance and direction for all department staff and provides leadership to the Senior Leadership Team with respect to patient flow strategies.
The Director provides vision, guidance and direction for all department staff and provides leadership to senior leadership with respect to patient flow strategies. Patient flow is a strategic priority for the province. The Director is responsible for leadership in the planning, implementation, delivery, performance management and evaluation of the services provided.
The director must ensure that there is an innovative and positive working climate that is patient/client centric and where safety is at the forefront.  The Director will model and support the continuous improvement of quality, safety and effectiveness of healthcare delivery.
The Director is responsible for creating and sustaining a workplace environment that fosters the application of quality improvement, evidenced based practices, compliance with accreditation standards and regulations, supporting clinical research utilization and managing risk and adverse events in collaboration with corporate resources.
A major focus of this role is to align care and service practices and policies throughout the spectrum of care environments in the province.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in health services, leadership or business administration is preferred.
