The Mentoring program assists adults who have Cognitive Disabilites. Assist with developing basic life skills, social skills and recreational activities. It delivers a culturally relevant, client centered, strength based approach. It promotes and nurtures self-worth, self-identity and self-esteem.
Qualifications:
-Post Secondary Degree or certification
-Social Work or relevant Social Science
-Combination of Education and experience may be considered.
-Knowledge of FASD and/or acquired brain injuries
-Demonstrate the ability to be innovative, open-minded, and creative
Essential Skills:
-Computer knowledge, which include databases.
-Believe in continuous learning and professional development.
-Quick decision making problem solving and critical thinking.
-Effective time Management, and organization skills
-Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
-Able to work flexible hours, including evening and weekends.
Security, Safety, and Transportation:
-Driving Abstract Check
-Driver Validity license check
-Child Abuse Registry check
-Criminal Record check
-CPR/First Aid Certificate
-Insurable vehicle
