Provincial Citizenship office for Saskatchewan assist Metis people and process applications for Metis Citizenship. The Metis Nation Saskatchewan office requires an Intake Office Clerk for full time employment in Saskatoon.
Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Director of Registry, the Intake Office Clerks will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Director. This work encompasses the following: Act as first point of contact with prospective Metis Nation citizenship applicants, provide detailed information regarding registry, interview citizenship applicants, ensure applicants have clear understanding of criteria, sustain quality and accuracy of work at all stages, maintain database, generate letters, provide receipts, assist in basic genealogical research and determine if there is missing documentation; act as a Commissioner of Oaths, as well as all other duties as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have Diplomas in Office Administration or Business or a minimum of two (2) years post secondary education. The successful candidate must have the ability to meet deadlines, work independently and possess strong organizational and computer skills, ability to work as part of a team, perform well under pressure and act with tact and discretion. General knowledge of databases, electronic search and retrieval techniques Training and/or experience interacting with public, retail and/or service environment. A good working knowledge of Metis history, culture and governance. Ability to provide Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector once hired.
