Description

GasBuddy is looking for a Back End Developer who has experience working with RESTful services to join our team to launch new web services for our GasBuddy products. You will contribute towards the development of microservices, database design, and internal tools. This is a small team that takes pride in their work and implements creative solutions.

You will be part of a team who designs and implements software that processes large amounts of data in near real-time, all while maintaining data integrity. You will build services and tools to support features across all GasBuddy products. If you want to build a first class product and have a real passion for connecting with users this is the role for you!

What You'll Do:

- Work on challenging projects that require you to be constantly mastering new skills and technologies.
- Build out real new features and iterate on existing live features
- Implement practical solutions to large-scale problems
- Follow best practices during design, debug, build, and deployment

What We Seek:

- Good understanding of full web technology stack
- Experience with:
-- Node.js and frameworks available for it
-- API development (REST & JSON)
-- Using cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
-- Containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS)
-- Databases and other open source software (Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, etc...)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-based environment
- Ability to balance detail oriented work with important project deadlines
- Knowledge of web services and data driven application architecture
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, especially within website, application servers, network, and databases
- .Net or Java experience is helpful but not required
