Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary function of this position is to effectively purchase inventory to meet the needs and demands of our customers.  

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Create and process purchase orders to vendors.
-Track vendor purchase order confirmations and follow up as required.
-Investigate and rectify discrepancies between purchase orders and vendor confirmations.
-Expedite outstanding orders and correct system due-dates.
-File purchase order/confirmation records.
-Run purchase order reporting and process merchandise/system updates.
-Process product stock transfers between warehouse locations.
-Research and obtain product quotes from assigned vendors.
-Obtain and maintain price lists from vendors and store on our internal site.
-Maintain good working relationships with vendors to ensure maximum support and
cooperation.
-Gather and maintain necessary weights/measurements for all products to support our Warehouse Management System.
-Obtain all GTN/UPC codes for all new listed products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Strong understanding of the procurement process including fill rate management and inventory turns.
-Exceptional investigative and analytical abilities.
-Working knowledge of basic office equipment, computers, internet, e-mail and various software applications.
-Exceptional organizational skills.
-Strong interpersonal skills (ability to effectively deal with others  tact/diplomacy/courtesy).
-Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills.
-Mathematically inclined.
-Efficient and accurate keyboarding/data-entry skills.
-Grade XII
Demonstrated Knowledge:
oKeyboarding:40WPM
oMS Word & Excel
Work Experience: Purchasing  3+ years.
Experience in the office supplies industry is a definite asset.
-Ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing learning/educational product and/or in purchasing from U.S. vendors.
