Description

As we continue to grow as an organization, Hillberg & Berk is looking for a strong leader with a background in accounting and finance to join our team as the Controller. If you have keen eye for detail, proven leadership skills and a strong knowledge of budgeting and forecasting, this may be the role for you!

What can you expect in this role?

As the Controller, youll uphold the Hillberg & Berk culture, brand and corporate identity through transparent and sound accounting practices. As a leader, youll provide coaching and guidance to your team through regular check-ins and empowerment planning.

Youll prepare budgets, forecasts and financial statements and help drive the organization to achieve financial objectives. Youll be responsible monitoring and auditing periodic reconciliations, maintaining a list of capital asset inventory and managing cashflow projections. Your strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills with help you as you consistently review our internal accounting processes at Hillberg & Berk to identify efficiencies; followed by the execution of plans to eliminate inefficiencies and mitigate risk.

Youll report to the Chief Financial Officer and use your exceptional communication skills and business acumen work effectively with the all teams in order to quickly identify possible efficiencies. You will continuously devise strategies for continuous improvement of companywide financial performance and serve as a subject matter expert for your area; including modelling, forecasting, and analyzing expenses to identify opportunities for cost saving.

What do you need to apply?

You have more than 5 years experience in a senior accounting or financial analyst role, as well as a related Bachelor's or graduate degree. You will also have a CPA designation and strong working knowledge with accounting related software and best practice. Our ideal candidate will also have a background in manufacturing and retail business environment.
