David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit for a Senior Financial Accountant to support their local operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Assisting in the monthly close process including inventory costing and intercompany reporting
Preparing monthly journal entries
Preparing monthly GL reconciliations
Attending and observing inventory counts
Providing support for audit requests
Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS
Analyzing and reviewing business unit financials, including conducting detailed monthly financial analysis of cost, sales, key business indicators and other financial measurements
Analyzing reasons for variances versus forecast, plan and budget with recommended actions to drive improvements in the business
Preparing cash flow and working capital analysis and reports
Assisting with special business related financial analysis as required
Assisting with special projects as needed

Job Requirements:

Must have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting
CPA, preferred
Three years of experience in a relevant accounting position
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently, be a self-starter and be highly organized
Manufacturing experience is an asset
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Must be detail oriented, analytical, problem solver and creative thinker
Results driven, able to meet tight deadlines.
Pro-active spirit and good communication skills, team orientation, collaborative working style.
Ability to function in a fast pace environment with changing deadlines and priorities. Ability to multi-task
