Description

Treaty Six Education Council is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic individual to fill the full-time position of Early Learning Consultant. Working as part of a collaborative team, the Consultant is a valuable leader and is knowledgeable in the field of Early Years learning. The Early Learning Consultant has specific responsibilities as well as shared responsibilities in the work of the Educational Services Department.

DUTIES:
-To provide leadership in developing, promoting and maintaining Early Learning programs in the system.
-To provide leadership in staff, and curriculum development, assessment and early intervention strategies designed to promote educationally sound experiences for students in Early Learning.
-To provide direct consultative assistance to school administrators and teachers in all aspects of the Early Learning programs.

Details of duties:
-Knowledge of high quality learning environment.
-To develop programming and materials to support inclusion in the early grades.
-In-service of Early Learning Staff on best practices for early childhood.
-Development of materials and programming to support developmentally appropriate practices in the early years.

-Increase knowledge and skills in families and communities with regards to early childhood.
-Able to build capacity, respond flexibly, identify strengths and areas for development.
-Monitor, analyze and evaluate a range of data to create action plans.
-Focus on working with partnerships for learning and development.
-Provide materials and plans to support developmentally appropriate practices. Model appropriate practices in classrooms.
-Participate in school-based planning, PLC's and trouble-shooting sessions when required.
-Develop good oral language procedure in all Early Learning classrooms to improve language skills.
-Experience with assessment
- Able to travel extensively throughout the TSEC area as required with own vehicle.
