Facility: Royal University Hospital
Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager of Nursing, the RN will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
SKHA (Saskatoon) Neonatal RN-SP Training and Certification
Experience
It will be desirable if you possess a knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques involved in performing nursing services relating to the care of patients in a neonatal intensive care unit. This knowledge is commonly obtained through previous experience in neonatal intensive care nursing or completion of a post graduate course in neonatal intensive care nursing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Self-motivated and self-directed
Knowledge of leadership strategies in order to lead, encourage, advise and cooperate with colleagues to promote and maintain positive relationships, to achieve patient/resident/client team and organizational goals within available resources.
Knowledge of communication techniques and approaches in order to adapt to multiple and ever changing situations and environments
Knowledge of the process of policy and procedure development and quality improvement initiatives
Knowledge of the role of the specific clinical area within the entire health system
Knowledge of critical thinking processes in order to creatively solve problems in an open and resourceful manner
Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques
