The Assistant Grocery Manager will play a critical role in leading and overseeing the operations of the department - including sales; gross margin & expense control; department standards, ordering and inventory control; human resources; guest service, administrative duties; department merchandising and corporate social responsibility activities.

You will use effective communication strategies to articulate the vision of success to all team members. You will utilize the varied skill sets of your team members to maximize customer engagement.
You will have a sound knowledge of department operations and possess above average communication and interpersonal skills. A solid understanding of computer applications, especially Microsoft Office, is required. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years retail experience, ideally in a leadership setting.

Working Conditions:
Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 10 kg; lift up to 25 kg on an intermittent basis
May be required to be on ones feet for an extended period of time
Must be willing to obtain Power Mobile Equipment Operator (PMEO) Certification and pull up to 600kg using pallet jack
Exposure to variety of temperatures
