Description

Reporting to the Area Manager this position is responsible for providing detailed manufacturing schedules within the established master production schedule in order to meet production schedule, quality, inventory, cost and delivery objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

To plan manufacturing orders from the master production schedule in order to meet shipping  requirements, by means of capacity planning, the systematic planning and release of manufacturing work orders, and subcontract orders
Schedule, contact and expedite parts from internal work centers.
Work with production supervisor to develop and implement contingency plans when necessary and keep management informed of actions being taken.
Perform lot sizing and load leveling solutions to achieve efficient and effective workflow, minimize material handling, and reduce total costs. When required to recommend subcontracting.
Analyze and resolve critical planning issues in order to meet the production schedule, quality, inventory, cost and delivery objectives.
Close completed orders accurately and timely to reflect credible data, satisfy data collection requirements, measures and performance reporting.
Utilize information system tools to maintain part number data-element integrity within the plant's planning information system databases.
Analyze and correct, or facilitate the correction of, discrepancies, paperwork or inventory problems to maintain parts flow and improve inventory accuracy
Liaise with various departments to ensure timely execution of new product launches in parallel with current production.


Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree is required. Business, Operations Management or Engineering majors preferred.
Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing planning position.
APICS certification.
Previous experience in MRP/ERP systems, production control activities, production and inventory management processes.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
