KPCL is hiring experienced surveyors for work around the Lanigan, Saskatoon, Warman/ Martensville, Estevan, Belle Plaine & Coronach areas.
Applicants must have a valid driver license and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test. Preference given to candidates with civil construction experience, working knowledge of Trimble /AutoCAD Civil 3D & the ability to complete take offs from drawings. Candidates must be physically able to perform the requirements of the job & willing to work in varied weather conditions
Key duties
-Actively participating, promoting & engaging others in a culture of safety
-With direction from the GM of Survey, completing survey work using Trimble GPS/Total Stations, interpreting construction drawings, implementing designs in the field, reviewing designs and as built survey data for submissions, & tracking construction progress and contract quantities for monthly progress payment
-Setting up, transferring & verifying electronic design models using Trimble Business Center for GPS enabled equipment (CAT Accugrade/Trimble Grade Control)
-Monitoring and reporting on project progress (daily reports, interim quantity calculations, construction schedules, delays, & damages)
-Adapting to meet changing priorities & helping resolve issues/ concerns arising in the field on a timely basis
-Communicating information clearly and effectively
-Listening and carrying out instructions diligently and speaking up when instructions are unclear, not understood or the hazards are not identified or mitigated
-Liaising with clients, client representatives and third-party QA/QC
-Mentoring and supporting less experienced employees within team
-Willingness to travel between jobsites & work overtime when required
-Any other duties as may be assigned by Employer
