Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill our Front End Loader / Backhoe Impactor Operator position in the Streets & Roads Branch of the Department of Engineering Services.  Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, this position will operate a City-owned combination Front end Loader/Backhoe and Impactor engaged in excavation and backfill of service connections and various other projects as required.

This position will perform the following duties:
-    Perform required maintenance of the machine ensuring proper and safe working conditions by inspections clutches and brakes and reporting repairs
-    Observe traffic rules and regulations
-    Prepare daily time card and required records
-    Supervisor small gangs for workers when required
-    Instruct other in the maintenance and operation of equipment

Qualified applicants will possess:
-    Grade 12 education or equivalent GED
-    Valid Heavy Construction Safety Association of Saskatchewan Power Mobile Equipment Certification for operating the Front End Loader / Backhoe Impactor Operator along with operating experience OR
-    Valid Class 3-A driver's license
-    Certification for Transportation of Dangerous Goods and First Aid and CPR
-    Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with others
