Reporting to the Executive Director, our Nutrition Coordinator/Cook/Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for all related food services including:
* Prepare meals according to the menu
* Maintain the kitchen facility in a hygienic, safe and presentable condition, adhering to guidelines set out by Public Health
* Ensure the kitchen is stocked each week with all items to prepare meals of the menu
* Involve children in food preparation and routines.
Share nutritional knowledge with the children, staff and families.
Be familiar with Play and Exploration and the Essential Learning Experiences and support the integration of the principles of early learning into the nutritional activities of the early learning program.
Facilitate the enjoyment of nutritional meals and assist in addressing childhood obesity concerns.
Qualifications:
* Early Childhood Education- Level 1
* Certificate in Safe Food Handling
* Valid First Aid and CPR
* Criminal Record Check with a vulnerable sector search
* Experience working in a kitchen
* Knowledge of the daily nutritional needs of children
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work with little supervision
Responsibilities:
* Food preparation and service for 90 children
* Provide breakfast, morning & afternoon snack & lunch
* Set up food carts and doing dishes
* Provide adequate amounts of food for all of the children
* Provide alternative meals for those
children who require special diets.
* Maintain an open & respectful working relationship with co-workers
