Summary:
VC Underground, a subsidiary of VistaCare Communications, is currently seeking experienced and motivated Labourers workers to join our Outside Plant (OSP) Operations in North Battleford, SK. The Construction Labourers are involved in all facets of outside plant construction of fibre optics and general labourer duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Load and unload materials, equipment, cable trailers and move materials in work areas
Pull fibre through conduit to pedestals
Install/Replace pedestals and cabinets
Operate vehicle-mounted aerial device equipment
Operate cable lashing machines and other lineman equipment
Outside Plant (OSP) line construction with coax, copper and fibre cables
Perform testing and troubleshooting if required
Direct traffic and carry out other traffic management activities as needed
Maintain tools and equipment as per manufacturers specifications
Excavation by hand where necessary
Maintain clean and safe work sites; remove debris and trash at construction sites
Load and unload materials and equipment
Perform other duties as assigned by manager or crew leader
Experience Required
Related experience (i.e. Labourer, Lineman / Line Technician, Construction, etc.)
Experience with fibre optics considered a major asset
Knowledge of handling requirements of fibre optics would be an asset
