Kanuka Thuringer LLP is now accepting applications for a full time legal administrative assistant in our Financial Services/Business department. This position supports the following areas of law: bankruptcies & restructuring, general insolvency, financial regulation, business law, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, commercial transactions and general business.
The successful candidate will present themselves in a professional manner and must be extremely attentive to detail, adaptable, self-motivated, and have the flexibility to work with another legal assistant supporting six lawyers within the department. The successful candidate will also possess strong organizational skills, the ability to learn quickly, and have strong computer skills along with an excellent command of the English language. Spelling, grammar and proofreading skills are essential skills for this position. Previous clerical or administrative experience is a must however legal experience is not necessarily mandatory.
The position will involve responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:
-transcribing documents from dictation
-preparation of legal documents, letters, memos, etc.
-maintaining electronic and paper filing systems
-conducting web searches
-effectively communicating with clients, lawyers, and other staff members
-multi-tasking and juggling numerous tasks in order to meet deadlines
