Working alongside other program staff and the Summer Program Coordinator (SPC) you will be responsible for coordinating and incorporating daily cultural, social, physical, and educational activities into an 8 week summer program for newcomer children ages 6-12.
The program staff will be expected to introduce a wide variety of cultural, social, and educational activities to children and teach them about life in Canada. The summer program is also focused on physical activity and so the chosen candidate(s) will be expected to assist with planning physical activities and other activities that address the children's unique needs and well-being.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with children
A passion for newcomers children and their families
Great communication skills
Ability to communicate in Arabic an asset
Program planning and organizing
Experience working with program budgets
Ability to supervise and be patient
Valid CPR & First Aid Training a must!
Criminal record and vulnerable sector check required
These positions are funded by Canada Summer Jobs and so the candidates must be under the age of 30, were full-time students in the 17-18 year and are enrolled as a full-time students in the 18-19 school year.
