Description

The Metis Nation Saskatchewan (MNS) invites applications for the following position:

Senior Finance Coordinator

Responsibilities:  Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)  The Senior Finance Coordinator will support the CFO to undertake and complete the following core functions to the finance department: responsible for full-cycle payroll functions; coordinate travel claims in conjunction with office manager; enter and track revenues for funding contracts; conduct accounts payable and receivable functions; perform bank reconciliations; responsible for a number of month-end processes; responsible for a variety of other account reconciliations; prepare financial reports; assist with audit functions and preparations; prepare on-line bill payments; assist in the preparation and development of finance policy;
assist in preparation of annual budgets; manage corporate cell phone contracts; and other duties related to the finance department as assigned by the CFO.

Qualifications:     The ideal candidate will have a diploma or university degree in business/finance or related; minimum three years experience in bookkeeping and payroll; knowledge of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) funding programs; experience with Excel and Sage 300 accounting software; a professional work ethic; good judgement and tact; ability to work under pressure and deadlines; flexibility to adapt and change priorities; ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team; attention to detail; ability to work in a fast and efficient manner; excellent verbal and written communications; a knowledge and familiarity with Metis culture would be an asset.

Term:     One year term with possibility of renewal
