The Ministry of Social Services requires a Supervisor in the Community Services division of Child and Family Programs. Under the Authority of The Child and Family Services Act and you will be responsible for the intake of children/youth to out of home resources. You will supervise, manage, and implement programs designed to provide out of home care and support services to children. You will act as a liason with emergency receiving foster homes, FNCFS agencies and group home resources.
Responsibilities include supervision, training, support, coaching of staff, and monitoring the quality of program delivery. You will ensure information flow and service delivery within the unit and with other agencies, and provide staff with up-to-date information on policies, services and community resources. As well, you will work closely with other sectors, and will be expected to represent the Ministry on interagency and provincial committees.
Extensive travel and the ability to work flexible hours will be required. This position requires a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indian Social Work or an equivalent social work degree from an accredited university, as approved by the CASW/CASSW, as well as knowledge of the legislation, protocols and programs related to services for children and families.
