Description

Reporting to the Director of Public Works, the Equipment Operator will be involved in
Operation & Maintenance of streets, roads and water and sewer infrastructures, water treatment plant operation, manual labour, on call rotation to include weekends and overtime as required.
All other duties as detailed by the Director or his representative
Salary in accordance with CUPE #2752 wage grid as negotiated

Qualifications and Credentials
Preferred Gr 12 or equivalent
Detailed Experience Operating & Maintaining Various pieces of Municipal Heavy Equipment
Working knowledge of operation of municipal sanitation equipment
Valid Class 3 drivers license or higher and Current Drivers abstract
First Aid & CPR
Able to use power tools efficiently and safely
Criminal Record Check
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To assist in the maintenance and/or operation of the municipal water and sewer infrastructures such as underground lines, wells, lagoon, sewage lift station, and treatment facilities.
To assist in the operation and maintenance of municipal road systems and solid waste disposal sites.
To assist in development and maintenance of landscaped areas or roadways within the municipality.
To assume the responsibilities of Water Treatment Plant Operator on a temporary/ rotational basis as would be required during on-call rotation.
To work overtime as required. (Emergency situations, necessary job completion)
To operate all equipment in a safe, effective and professional manner.
To perform or assist with other such duties as may be prescribed by the Director of Public Works and Utilities or his/her representative from time to time.
