Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking individuals to serve as its Summer Playground Directors in the Parks & Recreation Department.  Reporting to the Recreation Program Supervisor, the Playground Directors are responsible for organizing and supervising playground activities, programs and to encourage participation; stimulating creativeness, sportsmanship and leadership among participants; planning, developing and instructing activities/programs for participants; inspecting facility and equipment to ensure safety; preparing daily and weekly activity reports, attendance reports, damage reports and accident/incident reports; maintain discipline of participants and conducting yourself in such a manner as to enhance the prestige and dignity of your position. If you have the following qualifications, this opportunity will be of interest to you:
-    High School Students or Post-secondary education in Early Childhood, Education, Recreation/Kinesiology or other related program
-    Ability to pass vulnerable persons Criminal Record Check
-    Standard First Aid and CPR
-    Play Leadership Workshop Certificate
-    Experience supervising children an asset
-    Sixteen years of age or older
-    Proven play leadership skills
-    Able to plan, organize, schedule, instruct and evaluate program activities
-    Able to interact courteously with program participants, parents and the general public

Term of employment will run from July 2 to August 17, 2018 with the hourly wage being $13.84 (student wage) or $18.28 (non-student wage)
