Meadow Lake Mechanical Pulp Inc. is the world's first successful zero-effluent-discharge market pulp mill that is a state-of-the-art, chlorine-free bleached chemi-thermo mechanical pulp (BCTMP) facility. The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician (E/I) will work as part of a team which maintains, troubleshoots and optimizes the Electrical and Instrumentation systems in the mill.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine planned, predictive and corrective E/I maintenance
- Plan E/I maintenance in conjunction with Supply Chain and Operations personnel
- Investigate E/I technologies with vendors
- Troubleshoot with other mill personnel
- Optimize process control in conjunction with Operations and Technical personnel
- Develop and implement reliability integrity strategies
Qualifications:
- Completion of a two-year Technologist Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Technology;
&/or Completion of a Journeyperson Electrical or Instrumentation (Red Seal)
- Third and Fourth Year Apprentices will also be considered
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Safety Systems and Safety Interlocks
- PLC and Distributed Control experience
- Process Control & Analytical Instrumentation
- High Voltage
The successful candidate will be required to obtain Electrical and Instrumentation Red Seal Journeyperson Status.
There is an expectation of providing overtime as required to meet emergency mill needs and for scheduled mill outages. E/I Technicians also provide routine scheduled shift coverage. Preference will be given to qualified local and regional Saskatchewan applicants.
