Description

The Summer Program Worker will assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating programs and activities for children and youth, specifically the Childrens Summer Program. This is a full time, 8-week position (30 hour work week- 7 hours per day from June 18th and ending August 10th 2018). The successful candidates will help organize and oversee the SIMFCs Summer Childrens Program, which will include daily sports, cultural and recreational activities. The Summer Worker will also assist in the planning and organizing of summer programs and camps for youth, and will participate in other SIMFC events including FolkFest, and other fundraising events. The successful candidates will be required to work flex time.
Skills and Requirements
    Must be between the ages of 15 and 30 years old at the start of employment
    Was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year
    Intends to return to school on a full time basis during the next academic year
    Aboriginal candidate (First Nations, Metis, Inuit) preferred, please self-identify
    Present a current CPIC
    Must be able to work on a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends
    Performs work in accordance with policies and procedures of the organization
    Must be able to work on a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends
Must have at least 1 year of post-secondary education, ideally in a field related to the duties i.e. Education, Early Childhood Studies, Social Work, Recreation Technology
