DESCRIPTION:
The Student Financial Advisor (SFA) provides accurate, courteous, and timely response to all student and employee inquiries, including cost of attendance, payment plans, student loans and scholarships, and the application financial process and policies
The SFA facilitates all financial awards
The SFA is part of the Academic Services team, reporting to the Assistant to the Registrar
QUALIFICATIONS:
Actively supports the mission & vision of Briercrest College & Seminary
Completed a Bachelors degree from a recognized institution
Experience or training in budgeting, payment policy, payment plan negotiation, compliance
Works well within a team, possessing strong interpersonal & communication skills.
Possesses strong organizational, administrative skills, public speaking & presentation skills, learns quickly, adapts easily, enjoys working with students and in a team environment, able to complete projects autonomously
Competently utilizes relevant software tools
DESIRED OUTCOMES AND ACTIVITIES
Assist students and parents in clarifying student financial commitments, develop strategy to meet financial requirements
Ensure all new students have appropriate financial information prior to enrollment
Work with Finance to manage student account payment process and policy
Perform administrative functions for all processes related to student financial awards.
Provide support to the Enrollment team
Collaborate with the Student Success Centre on student success contracts that involve a financial component
