Facility: SHAUNAVON HOSPITAL & CARE CENTRE
Job Description: Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Nursing Unit Coordinator (NUC) will be responsible for ensuring the day to day operations and the resident flow of the Long Term Care Facility, as well as leading the development of a resident centered, Eden philosophy of care. The incumbent will facilitate the encouragement of critical thinking skills of the nursing staff as they are fostered to work to their full scope of practice.

The incumbent will also be responsible for providing coaching and mentoring to ensure a high standard of acute care is delivered in the home facility.

The incumbent will serve as Team Lead to other facilities in the region and be responsible for supporting implementation of resident-centered care approaches and fostering excellence in geriatric care on a regional basis.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Experience
Minimum 3 years relevant Continuing Care Nursing experience.
Minimum 1 year supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Change management skills
Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered Preference will be given to those applicants with a certificate or diploma in Gerontology.
Expected Start Date: June 1, 2018
Expected Up To Date: April 18, 2019
FTE: 1.00

Hours of Work: Shift Information: Days
112.00 hours per 3 week rotation: 14 shifts of 8.00 hours
