Description

The Production Planning Supervisor, under the direction of the Shop Manager, is primarily responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling and efficient distribution of manpower while working closely with shop management, purchasing, engineering, and other related personnel to ensure on-time delivery and an accurate schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities:
    Responsible for the efficient distribution of manpower throughout all Production Departments, including: Receiving, Machines, Welding, Paint and Prep, Assembly, Material Handling, Jigs, Set up, Shipping and Maintenance. Overseeing the duties and responsibilities of each Foreman or Lead Hand in these areas, including:
o    Ensuring all employees receive the proper training to perform all tasks requested of them in a safe and efficient manner.
o    Ensuring all employees receive meaningful evaluations on a regular basis and are compensated and coached accordingly.
    Provide input on the weekly, monthly and yearly manpower requirements needed to successfully complete the Production Forecast and Schedule on time, while meeting or improving on the standard times allowed.



Qualifications:
    At least 7 years of progressive experience in a metal fabrication manufacturing environment with extensive knowledge of industrial equipment and machine shop practices.
    Thorough understanding of production requirements, work flow, scheduling, planning and constraints theories.
    Experience with manufacturing software and understanding of AutoCAD/Solid works.
    Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
    High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
    Exceptional forecasting ability with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    Strong leadership and people management skills.  
    Ability to work well under pressure and meet fluctuating deadlines.
    Lean manufacturing training and experience.
