The Summer Support/Youth Liaison Workers main objectives will be to administratively support SIMFCs events such as the annual SIMFC Aboriginal Graduation Gala, National Aboriginal Day, fundraising events, Folkfest festival at the Indian and Metis pavilion.
2nd objective would be to run the SIMFC Youth Centre and its youth activities in addition to supporting SIMFCs events.
3rd objective for this position would be to provide cover off (if needed) with the childrens summer program.
The SIMFC Community Programs Coordinator will oversee the planning of the SIMFC and youth activities and will supervise the Summer Support/Youth Liaison Worker.
Job Description:
Duties include writing and typing up letters and business correspondence (sponsorship letters, etc.), faxing, photocopying, emailing, updating facebook page with event listings, making posters for these events, contacting community stake holders for National Aboriginal Day meetings through phone calls, emails, etc. Will work in an office type environment.
This is a 16 week position (35 hour work week, from June 1, and ending August 31, 2018). The successful candidate will be required to work flex time.
Youth Centre duties:
Assist in planning, supervising, and delivering youth program activities.
Aboriginal candidate preferred please self identify as being First Nation, Metis or Inuit.
