Description

The Saskatchewan Literacy Network is a non-profit, charitable organization committed to supporting and promoting literacy and lifelong learning across the province.

Position Summary

The Communications Coordinator will work together with the Networks team to develop communications plans and materials to support various literacy and essential skills projects, programs, initiatives, and celebrations. Duties include the design and development of Network promotional materials and publications, managing social media platforms, overseeing the maintenance of the Network website, and engaging with literacy partners and programming across the province.

Position Specific Responsibilities

1. Develop communications plans and materials to support various programs, projects, and initiatives in the areas of family literacy, adult literacy and essential skills, and community literacy for the upcoming year.
2. Design and develop Saskatchewan Literacy Network promotional materials and publications.
3. Perform desktop publishing duties such as preparing e-newsletters, inserts, and posters to promote literacy.
4. Maintain the Networks social media platforms; regularly update and monitor Facebook, Twitter, and Website.
5. Plan, coordinate, promote, and implement events, as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

Must be returning to post-secondary studies in Marketing, Communications or equivalent program for the upcoming academic year.
Exceptional skills in marketing, communications, and social media management.
Proficiency with office software, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Capable of managing multiple projects and timelines.
Excellent written and oral communications including application of clear language principles.
