PUBLIC WORKS LABOURER II
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Public Works, the Labourer II will be involved in
Solid Waste Collection
Manual labour
All other duties as detailed by the Director or his representative
Salary in accordance with CUPE #2752 wage grid as negotiated

Qualifications and Credentials
Preferred Gr 12 or equivalent
Working knowledge of operation of municipal sanitation equipment
Valid Class 5 drivers license and Current Drivers abstract
Air Brake endorsement would be an asset, or willing and able to obtain within 6 months of hiring
First Aid & CPR
Able to use power tools efficiently and safely
Criminal Record Check

Specific Skills
- Spread sand or salt on sidewalks for snow or ice control
- Load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment
- Dig ditches and trenches
- Collect and load refuse on garbage trucks
- Clean and maintain sidewalks, streets, roads and public grounds
- Assist skilled tradespersons
- Assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment
- Assist equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment or truck
