David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client a leader in the Fire and Security Service and Installation industry to recruit for a Fire Systems Service and Installation Technician to support its Southern Saskatchewan territory.
The main duties of this opportunity include inspections, repair and maintenance of fire alarm systems installed at customer sites, maintenance of various emergency systems including lighting and protective systems and portable fire extinguishers.
This is a work-from-home opportunity supported by a company service truck and requiring a high degree self-sufficiency and self-motivation.
The Role:
Perform duties of maintenance contracts, service requests and 24 hour emergency service calls
Communicate with clients and troubleshoot the source of customer problems
Deliver quality service/maintenance and provide recommendations for improvement
Test and inspect systems to ensure that the service performed was successful
Train customers on the proper operation and use of fire alarm systems
Complete a range of reports and documentation supporting tracking of work performed
Complete inspections of Fire Alarm Systems as per Can/ULC S536-04
Complete verifications of Fire Alarm Systems as per Can/ULC S537-04
Complete Fire Extinguisher inspections as per NFPA-10
Complete Annual Emergency Lightning inspections as per the OBC
Requires up to 90% travel time to best support client sites
The Ideal Candidate:
Minimum 3-5 years of industry experience in the electronics field or a related discipline, including at least 2-3 years of experience servicing alarm systems
Experience in the inspection of all Fire & Life safety systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Possess valid Provincial Drivers License
C.F.A.A. certification is required
