The Technical & Trades Instructor will work as part of team dedicated to the success of students registered in our Mining and Trades programs. The instructor will provide lecture, lab, and field instruction to students; keep inventory of equipment; organize and supervise student field trips; and participate in course material development. Areas of instruction include, but are not limited to: Applied Mathematics, Safety, Surveying, Physics and Chemistry. The instructor is also responsible for monitoring and providing feedback on student progress; submitting required paperwork to Northlands College and affiliated agencies. Additional duties include; classroom management; taking attendance and submitting on a regular basis; monitoring student progress and submitting reports on a regular basis; and other duties as assigned.
The minimum qualifications for this position are: Engineering Diploma or Degree; Member of, or eligible for certification with, SASTT as an B.Sc. or with APEGS and a P.Eng., Two years of recent and relevant experience in the engineering field; Effective communication and interpersonal skills; Effective instructional ability; and a thorough understanding of northern Saskatchewan Indigenous culture is a definite asset. A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
Accrediting Institute: Saskatchewan Polytechnic - Instructor must be approved by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
