Description

Little Pine First Nation is looking for a Culturally Inclined teacher to work in our Awasisik Nikan Program with another highly qualified teacher.

Awasisak Nikan is nehiyaw meaning Children First! Awasisak Nikan is a part of Chief Little Pine School on Treaty 6 Territory. This grade 7/8 class is a land-based learning program that targets not only the current curriculum but nehiyaw culture as well.

CLPS is dedicated to promoting Cree culture throughout the school. Our Awasisak Nikan program (grade 7/8 class) is currently working on creating new content for their class website about their travels and land-based learning. Additionally, we are putting together a variety of content based on Treaty, Language and Culture (TLC).

This position will require you to have Cree Cultural/Language background. You will be working together to program at a middle years level, placing a high emphasis on Land-Based Learning.
