The Roles Purpose
The Controller will contribute to the accurate financial reporting of Meridians projects and operations so its stakeholders can effectively manage the business and make the best decisions to ensure continued success.
What Youll Do
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
Contribute to the development and maintenance of Meridians internal controls
Provide financial analysis and interpretation of internal reports to projects team
Work closely with the projects team in the development of budgets and make improvements in the overall budgeting process
Track project costs by subcontractors based on contract requirements and rectify any issues
Ensure invoices are aligned with contractual agreements and interact with suppliers to resolve any issues
Ensure the timely processing of all invoices and payments
Ensure proper reporting and compliance with all regulatory authorities
Understand the full cycle accounting process in order to provide assistance as needed
Other administrative duties as required
What Youll Need
Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accounting
Completion or active pursuit of a CPA designation
Experience working in the construction industry or in public practice is an asset
Knowledge of interprovincial tax regulations
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
