Description

This position is responsible for quality assurance through audits of HR processes and documentation, support the Human Resource department in various areas and provide compensation and payroll knowledge and services to effectively support the Company.  

General Responsibilities
Audit HR documentation - new hires, terminations, training, immigration requirements, etc.
H2S Monitors & SCBAs  order, track inventory, calibration, troubleshoot, hydro-test & recertification
Assist with temporary foreign worker program; sourcing housing, inspections and completing documentation
Backup for immigrant settlement (will include travelling to airport & throughout province) and handling other immigration tasks
Update HR documentation (filing, scanning, etc.)
Assist the HR Department with other duties as required
Ensure bi-weekly pay runs are completed on time and are accurate using AS400 and JWalk time entry systems, while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
Ensures accuracy of  status change information entry in respect to new hires, terminations, wage changes and employee record adjustments are completed to meet payroll deadlines
Communicates with Unit and Department Managers regarding the accuracy and timely submission of attendance records
Must be available to work statutory holidays as required for payroll processing

Education/Experience Required
Degree in Human Resources preferred
Maintain a high level of confidentiality with all HR and payroll information
Experience with MS Office applications - Word, Excel, and Payroll software is required.
Willingness and ability to visit production units as required (travel will be required with this position)
Self motivated, organized and detailed oriented; excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Certificate or diploma in office education, business administration or human resources plus direct work experience of 2  5 years in payroll/accounting.
