Unit Clerk
Permanent Casual
Under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor, the Unit Clerk provides reception and clerical support to the Nursing Department. He/she also may provide filing services to the Health Information Management Department and reception and clerical support to the Diagnostics Department. He/she may assist in maintaining staff schedules, adhering to collective bargaining agreements and may replace staff as required. This person will work closely with all departments of the All Nations Healing Hospital and First Nations Health Services to ensure/maintain a high quality of service delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Answering and directing incoming calls, receiving, admitting and assisting clients;
Accurate data input;
Monitors visitors and pages staff
Operation and maintenance of office equipment;
Maintaining filing systems and client records;
Maintenance of staff itineraries and attendance;
Process Physician Orders
Other general administrative duties.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Office Education Certificate
Medical Terminology Certificate
Medical Office Assistant or Unit Clerk Training would be an asset
Interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently
Dependability and demonstrated ability to work in a confidential environment;
Good working knowledge of various software programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Access);
Ability to learn new skills and to multitask;
Knowledge of First Nations culture and traditions.
