Description

PURPOSE:  
To develop industry best practices in procurement to ensure that right materials, with the right quality, at the right time, and at the right price are available to support the ongoing operations at Bourgault Industries.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Purchase a designated group of items/commodities and deliver material requirements to production as needed.  
    Proactively manage open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of items relative to the demands of various production schedules.
    Arrange and improve the inbound freight of our supply chain, working alongside the rest of the purchasing team.
    Monitor and track shipments and review freight invoices for accuracy.
    Act as a liaison between suppliers and other Bourgault departments, including engineering, finance, quality, production, and marketing.  
    Facilitate resolution of supplier-related quality issues.
    Provide high quality procurement services and develop supplier business relationships.
    Develop efficient buying methods and promote the standardization of best practices & Standard Work.
    Act in a fiscally responsible manner.
    Analyze production requirements by gathering and analyzing quantitative data.
    Negotiate prices, terms, rates and analyze markets as needed.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
    5+ years of purchasing experience in a  manufacturing organization is desired
    Relevant post-secondary education (Degree in Business, Materials Management or equivalent)
    Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation
    Effective leadership skills, including the ability to influence people and manage projects
    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    Readily able to establish and develop strategic relationships and partnerships
    Advanced computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office Excel but also Word and Outlook
    Experience with and knowledge of Lean principles & practices is an asset
    Experience with Infor XA is an asset
