The x-ray technologist performs diagnostic procedures utilizing radiation equipment, as ordered by physicians and nurse practitioners, for the diagnosis and tracking disease and pathology. This work is performed without technical supervision but is reviewed by the radiologist when interpreting the x-ray films. The x-ray technologist is also responsible for electrocardiograms and spirometry tests as ordered by referring physicians. Added responsibilities to this position are the arrangement of patient referral appointments and data entry for the chronic disease management collaborative.
